Bayern Munich banned Vincent Kompany

Bayern Munich have enjoyed immense success under Vincent Kompany since appointing the Belgian as their manager in the summer of 2024.

The former Manchester City captain guided the German giants to back-to-back Bundesliga titles during his first two seasons.

Moreover, Bayern rewarded his success with a contract extension until June 2029, securing his long-term future at the club.

However, Kompany recently suffered a serious health scare that forced him to step away from his managerial responsibilities.

The 40-year-old collapsed while watching a reserve-team training session on October 23 and was subsequently rushed to hospital.

After spending five days receiving medical treatment, Kompany was discharged and allowed to continue his recovery at home.

Meanwhile, Bayern are preparing to face Borussia Dortmund, with both teams unbeaten after seven Bundesliga matches this season.

The Bavarians currently lead the table on goal difference, with both clubs collecting 17 points from their opening fixtures.

However, Bayern have introduced unusual restrictions to protect their manager during his recovery.

According to BILD, Bayern Munich have banned Vincent Kompany from discussing football, including tactics, team selections and match analysis.

The Belgian has been diagnosed with meningeal irritation, a condition affecting the protective membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord.

Bayern have instructed assistant manager Aaron Danks and the coaching staff to avoid football conversations with Kompany.

Speaking ahead of the Dortmund clash, Danks confirmed the restrictions imposed by the club's hierarchy.

Asked whether he could discuss tactics and team selections with Kompany, Danks replied: "No, absolutely not. Not at all."

Furthermore, the restrictions extend to telephone conversations and personal visits, even if Kompany himself raises football-related matters.

BILD also revealed that Kompany had struggled with a viral infection and insufficient sleep due to late-night video analysis.

Danks has already overseen victories against Freiburg and Magdeburg and will again manage Bayern against Borussia Dortmund.

There is currently no confirmed return date, with Bayern prioritising Kompany's recovery over his immediate return to football.
